Romey: Tinder for photographers and modelssunday 1 May 2016, 19:37 by Iris van Liempt | 3015 times read | 0 comments
Recently, a new app was launched that is aimed at matching photographers and models. The app, Romey, is a lot like the famous dating app Tinder.
The app, which is available for both iOS and Android, connects photographers, models and companies based on preferences such as available time during the day, locations etcetera. It works using algorithms to make the best matches possible.
Jerome Rault, who founded the app, stated: ”I was sick of seeing really great talent simply get left behind because they didn't have the right contacts or knowledge about how to network, grow great portfolios, and get paid jobs.”
The app enables you to find free or paid jobs. The app is free to download, but has the possibility to upgrade to have more features. Using the app you create your own profile, to which you can upload photos and choose a style of photography you're interested in. The app then links you to profiles that match your requests and preferences.
In the app you can like and reject, just like Tinder. You can also skip to think about it. And just as with Tinder, you can find a match this way and plan work!
Right now, the app is still pretty small, but I think it has a lot of potential to develop into a much used app that makes it easier to find jobs, both for models and photographers. Using this app, paid work in photography or modelling could become a lot more easily accessible.
